The Town of Orangeville is currently in the process of implementing the Community Action Plan adopted by Council early in 2017 around the same time that the town was welcomed in as a new member to the World Health Organization Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities. Orangeville was a grateful recipient of one of the Age-Friendly Community Planning Grants, which allowed the Town to bring in a consultant to assist in developing the plan.
The Orangeville Seniors/Age-Friendly committee of council has been spear heading the implementation however, it could not be done without the generous and consistent efforts of many individuals and partners who strive to fulfill the Committee’s vision for aging well in Orangeville:
A vibrant, safe community where we can all age with
dignity, respect and purpose.
Through the process of developing the community plan five priority areas were identified. They are listed below in no particular order.
