sageducation.ca (sage-du-ca-shun) is the Centre for Studies in Aging & Health’s customized Learning Content Management System (LCMS).  Some of the material found on sageducation.ca is open for your use at any time. We offer two streams of education: Courses for Health Care Professionals and for PSWs, Individuals & Caregivers.  Click on the options below for more information.

Sageducation GOLD Courses for Health Care ProfessionalsThe CSAH Continuing Education GOLD courses for Health Care Professionals have been developed to support continuing education for health care professionals. These courses are designed to accommodate the HCP in the workplace, with the option of following our '101' series of condensed introductory courses with the option of following a more in-depth comprehensive coverage of the particular health issue.

These lessons provide relevant and engaging information, designed to run between 10 and 20 minutes.  There are helpful 'Pre and Post Assessment Quizzes' that help reinforce the learning and retention of the material. 

Sageducation GOLD Courses for PSWs, Individuals & CaregiversThe CSAH Continuing Education GOLD courses for PSWs, Individuals & Caregivers have been developed to support educational initiatives for Personal Support Workers, Trained Volunteers and Family Caregivers. 

These lessons provide relevant and engaging information, designed to run between 10 and 20 minutes.  There are optional 'Pre and Post Assessment Quizzes' that help reinforce the learning and retention of the material.

Sageducation GOLD Overview Courses for Heath Care ProfessionalsThis series of GOLD Overview courses provides a foundation for understanding, recognizing, assessing and managing health care concerns in the older adult.  Each topic includes short narrated modules that focus on these four themes.  

 These courses consiste of condensed Lesson modules, each of which take no more than 15 minutes to view.

Please note that viewing the modules in these courses are open to the public.  However in order to access the Course Completion Certificates for these topics, you must be a registered user and enrolled in the course.

Education & Training Navigator

This webpage shares resources on quality of life (QOL) assessment for older adults living with frailty and their family caregivers.  Tools for QOL assessments have been shown to help older adults to work with their healthcare providers to live comfortably at home as long as possible and to help family members who are coping with the demands of caring for a love one at home. November 28, 2019 from 10am - 3pm at 200 Doug Duncan Dr., Newmarket. This workshop is for organizations, support staff, and family members looking to expand their communication toolbox to enhance support for individuals with a sensory loss and/or communication need. This interactive workshop will introduce experience tools, deepen participant understanding of how these tools relate to anticipation, reliving, retelling, and conceptual development and provide a hands on opportunity to develop an experience tool.
